Chattagram Maa-O-Shishu Hospital Medical College Signs MoU with Kunming Medical University, China

A delegation from Kunming Medical University, China, led by Dr. Yu Qiang, Vice President, visited Chattagram Maa-O-Shishu Hospital Medical College on 28 September 2026. The delegation also included Prof. Wang Nianmin, Chairman, School of Continuing Education; Prof. Yang Linlin, Deputy Director, Second Affiliated Hospital; and Ms. Yu Jianbin, Program Officer, Division of International Exchange & Cooperation.
The delegation visited the Medical College, Dental Unit, and various departments of the Hospital. During the visit, an MoU was signed between Chattagram Maa-O-Shishu Hospital Medical College and Kunming Medical University by Prof. Dr. Asim Kumar Barua, Principal, and Dr. Yu Qiang, Vice President, focusing on faculty and student exchange, joint research, academic activities, conferences and seminars, academic resource sharing, and faculty training.
Among those present from Chattagram Maa-O-Shishu Hospital were S. M. Morshed Hossain, President, Executive Committee; Md. Zahidul Hasan, Joint General Secretary; Prof. Dr. Asim Kumar Barua, Principal; Dr. A. K. M. Ashraful Karim, Director (Medical Affairs); Md. Mosharraf Hossain, Deputy Director (Administration); Prof. Dr. Anupam Barua, Academic Coordinator & Head of Medicine; Prof. Dr. Sanjoy Kanti Biswas, Department of Microbiology; Prof. Dr. Tahera Begum, Head of Obstetrics & Gynaecology; and Dr. Rana Chowdhury, Associate Professor, Child Health Department. The programme was conducted by Dr. Ayesha Mohammad Osman, Registrar, Department of Medicine.
The MoU is expected to strengthen medical education, research, healthcare, training, and academic collaboration between the two institutions.
